Steeped in civil war history, Kendrick Creek has an amazing Albemarle Sound view & is a nature lovers excursion. High banks lined with a variety of unusual hardwood trees for this coastal area and a wonderful habitat for eagles, osprey, cormorant and aquatic wildlife. Mackey’s Landing is an attractive put-in spot with a popular lunch restaurant, The Landing. Paddle is 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours. Age: 10+. Must be able to swim. This charming 1 1/2 -2 hour paddle begins at the NC Wildlife Resources Commission Boat Ramp off NC 343. We'll begin going upstream under the NC bridge and enjoy the peaceful waters surrounded by the variety of flora and fauna native to this area. Or, if you'd prefer to see downtown harbor-side at sunset we 'll launch across from the Museum of the Albemarle. Big Groups Welcome. Paddle is 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
